We all would go on little adventurous trekking at some point of our lives, here are some tips and advice on how you can make your trekking hassle free.
- Follow your normal routine at least two days before you go on trekking, hydrate yourself well for those few days before going on trekking.
- Check the weather report of the location where you are headed to, and make sure you are going on the right time.
- Calculate how much weight you can carry without hurting yourself and pack them in your backpack with wide shoulder straps.
- Carrying sufficient amount of water, it should be your priority, refill whenever possible, energy drinks and glucose are a plus.
- Carry compass, binoculars even though you have maps on your mobile devices or may not know cartography but a physical map is a must.
- Get the perfect pair of shoes, trekking shoes are a must with a good pair of socks.
- Insect or mosquito repellents, aspirin, band aid will come in handy.
- Sunscreens, deodorants, combs, toothpaste, face creams, antiperspirant are optional.
- Make an inventory if you have too many or too little items.
- Don't get into unsafe and unknown waters if you are not a good swimmer, do not involve in any dare stunts near lakes or streams.
- Use leaves on your head if it gets hot.
- Don't leave traces of your path unless you have to.
- Choose a used path, if you are not very aware of the location.
- Always walk at your normal pace, Never leave your group, if you slow down, hold back one of your friend. Grab a stick and support yourself while walking it should take some stress off your legs.
- Delicate mobile phones can be avoided, carry camera bags and mobile covers.
- Build a campfire safely, don't bring down the place, remember campfire attracts people and animals.
- Pitch your campsite at a perfect place, mainly non windy and not easily visible places.
- If you go without informing your parents, let someone close to your family who you trust know where you are headed.
