Criticizing samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy SIII
The flagship phone from Samsung, is it the best smartphone on the planet? is it perfect? lets take a look at the downsides of it

Design
Not many people are impressed with the design, i personally think after three installments it should have been better
  1. Round egg shaped edges doesn't look good
  2. Hyperglaze finish meaning another transparent layer of plastic over the polycarbonate cover adding to the glossy finish doesn't impress, more importantly in pebble blue variants it looks like unevenly spread watery finish.
  3. The back panel is not the strongest, seems a bit cheap
  4. The back camera still emerge out of the backside of the phone, but to a very little extent
  5. The front side of the phone seems unsymmetrical with three dark spots on the top right for front camera, proximity sensor.
  6. The curvy sides gives a better ergonomics while holding the phone, but in terms of design its not the best crafted phone, it lacks that eye catching design others provide.
  7. The home button is not impressive enough, looks oddly shaped.
  8. The phone is definitely big to carry around easily and you need two hands to use it, using it on the go is tough.

  Features
  1. The screen looks big but its not a super AMOLED plus like its predecessor S2. Whereas S3 has a super AMOLED pentile display which means it has 4 sub pixels RGBG unlike usual RGB, which means images may have that extra brighter subpixel adding to tiny distortion kind of look. Overall the display in S3 falls behind the display of S2, iPhone 5, HTC one X and even the iPhone 4.
  2.  Battery taking into matter it has 2100 mAh performs pretty well, but not the best in market when compared with the Motorola droid or HTC oneX+ the reason maybe because of its super fast performance, it looses upto 20 percent of battery in standby through the day, but sufficiently gets you through the day on above normal usage.
  3.  Video recording quality is good, but sound is choppy, uneven and bounces often.
  4.  Not much changes in the keyboard, its definitely not the best.
  5.  Capture every moment as they say can't be true because the camera shuts itself when u receive a call when ur shooting a video, this may seem lame but there are phones which continue to record even when u get a call.
  6.  Processor wise nothing to complain about probably the fastest phone currently in terms of performance without lag, still its obvious when a quad core drives a hand held device with 2gb RAM, when most computers run on dual cores, iPhone 4s runs equally smoother. I'd say Samsung is ruining the mobile world by unnecessarily adding multi-cores for such small devices.
  7.  Icons seems scattered with huge screen space, icons also look bit childish.
  8.  NFC as usual is slow compared to Bluetooth, it speeds up by combining with NFC and WiFi (S Beam)  but works only with other S3 phones.
  9.  Multitasking works perfect.
  10.  Samsung touch wiz has not changed much and its customization of user interface doesn't impress much.
  11. Camera aperture is low allowing less light, may affect low light photography, but its not much of a drawback.
  12. Features like it sleeps when u sleep, place on ear to call, video mini window all seems to be novelty feature
Also there are talks about Galaxy's next version coming before a year from S3's launch, and other phones in the market with similar features, not much of change other than the performance speed from S2. Is S3 the best buy,
its for you to decide
